The short version

• We ask before we use your birth details, and we tell you why.
• Palm photos are read on your phone. They are never sent to us or saved by us.
• We never sell your data, and we never share it for advertising.
• Ask us to delete your data and we do it within 7 days.

What we collect, and why

• Birth date, time and place, only with your consent, to calculate your kundli. For a Match Card, also the other person's details, which you should enter only with their permission.
• Your phone number, if you sign in, for login and receipts.
• Your questions and Tara's answers, so Tara can answer you and remember your story.
• Payment records (amount, date, UPI reference), because tax law requires them. We never see your UPI PIN or bank password.
• A quality log of answers, kept without names or birth details, so our team can check answer quality.

Palm photos

The palm scan runs on your phone. The photo is read there and is not uploaded, and we never store it. Only the result you choose to save, such as the names and lengths of your lines, is kept.

The palm scan is for ages 16 and up. For ages 16 and 17 it runs fully on the phone and nothing is sent or saved, unless a parent gives consent by OTP.

How Tara uses your data

To write an answer, we send the AI model your question and the computed facts of your chart. We do not send your name or phone number. Our AI providers may use this only to produce your answer, under contract.

This website

This website has no cookies, no trackers and no ads. Your browser remembers your language and city on your own device only.

Fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google can see your IP address when a font loads.

Consent, and taking it back

You can withdraw consent at any time, from the app's settings or by writing to the grievance officer below. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it. After that, we stop using the data and delete it.

Your rights under the DPDP Act, 2023

• See a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
• Correct, complete or update it.
• Have it erased.
• Have your complaint heard and resolved.
• Nominate someone to use these rights for you if you cannot.

Deletion

We delete your data within 7 days of your request. The only exception is what the law makes us keep, such as payment records for tax, and we keep only that, only for as long as required.

Children

Accounts are for adults. Apart from the on-phone palm scan for ages 16 and 17 described above, we do not knowingly process a child's data without verifiable consent from a parent.

Who we share with

We never sell your data. We use a few service providers to run SachAstro (hosting, SMS for OTP, the payment gateway and AI model providers). They work under contract, only to deliver our service to you.

Security and storage

Your data is encrypted at rest, and only the few people who need it for their work can access it.

Your data is kept with established cloud providers. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India, as the DPDP Act requires.

Grievance officer

For any question, request or complaint about your data, write to our grievance officer.

If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data, we will tell you in the app before the change applies and ask for consent again where the law needs it.
